It is the honor of a lifetime to serve as Cook County Commissioner of the 13th District.
I’m proud to be the first Asian American woman to serve on this board, representing the most ethnically, religiously and linguistically diverse district in the county.
Over the last four years, we have endured a lot. We have also accomplished a lot–together.
Cook County is a model for how government can be fiscally responsible while advancing equity and opportunity.
In my first term, Cook County passed balanced budgets and earned six credit rating upgrades. We also established the country’s largest Guaranteed Income Program and abolished over $1 billion in medical debt for 790,000 Cook County residents.
In the 13th District, we secured over $40 million to support local businesses and organizations, and expand our public transit, bike and pedestrian infrastructure. We passed the county’s first Environmental Justice policy, expanded language access and protected our neighbors.
I am proud of the work we have done.
Let’s do more – together.
