In November 2022, you elected me Cook County Commissioner of the 13th District. I am the first woman to hold this seat, and the first Asian American woman to serve on the Cook County Board.
Over the last four years, we have endured a lot. We have also accomplished a lot––together.
Cook County has been a model of how government can invest in improving people’s lives while balancing a budget and saving taxpayers’ money now, and into the future.
Cook County runs the country’s largest Guaranteed Income Program and abolished over $1.5 billion in medical debt for 70,000 Cook County residents. At the same time, we have passed balanced budgets that earned Cook County six credit rating upgrades over the last four years.
It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your Commissioner. We have worked hard to invest more than $40 million into the 13th District’s communities, organizations and businesses to end homelessness, expand language access, create opportunity and make the district more accessible, equitable and sustainable.
I am proud of the work we have done. We have so much more work to do-together.
With gratitude and love,
